Want to give scuba diving a go with Street Sub Aqua Club?!
We offer try dives every other Thursday evening at Strode Swimming Pool, Street.
We rent one half of Strode Swimming Pool every other Thursday evening for members and training, so there is plenty of room to enjoy your first-try dive, practise your skills, or try something new in the safety and warmth of the pool.
A Try Dive session starts at around 19:30 and finishes at around 22:00 (exit the pool around 21:00, then a social drink at The Bear Inn, Street). The Try Dives cost £25, which includes entry to the pool and use of all the kit.
We have a minimum age requirement of 12 for Try Dives.
We can also provide Try Dive vouchers if you are struggling for a Christmas / birthday present or just fancy doing something a little bit more adventurous with your partner.

What is involved in a Try Dive?
- Meet your instructor, who will introduce you to the scuba equipment you will be using, explain how it functions, and help you get kitted up.
- Get in the pool and familiarise yourself with the operation of your buoyancy device, fins, mask and breathing equipment.
- A minimum of 30 minutes in full scuba gear, where we will get you swimming around underwater and controlling your own buoyancy.
- Opportunity to experience some of the basic skills and drills you will become accustomed to during your BSAC training.
- Most importantly, our aim is for you to enjoy the experience and have fun!!
- Afterwards, there is an opportunity to enjoy a social drink at one of our local venues, where you can ask any questions you may have and/or listen to our stories and experiences.
What to bring?
- Swimming kit.
- T-shirt that you don’t mind getting wet.
- £1 coin for the lockers.
- £25 cash for your Try Dive, or you can make a bank transfer in advance.
